Since I discovered luge, I've always seen the special booties as a sort of torture instruments: useful, but uncomfortable to wear. In fact, athletes keep them closed just the time of the runs.
I would have never thought that could have been used in other sports.

I have been contacted by Christian, a real sportsman, that life's difficulties have not stopped, but made stronger and more combative.
While he was captain of the Hockey Prato's team, a scooter accident in 2010 has set an abrupt end to his sports career and changed his life.

Abandoned the wheels of the skates, Christian discovered the handbike's ones, to whom he dedicates himself with the commitment and devotion of a professional athlete.

In the Giro d'Italia 2016, MH4 category, he distinguished himself by winning the 1st, the 2nd and the 4th stage. Waiting for the final on next September 18th, in Baia Domizia (CE), after 6 stages he firmly holds the Maglia Rosa with 147 points, 21 more than the closest rival.

Christian explained to me that the luge booties would be ideal for the handbike, in fact some foreign athletes already use them, but in Italy it is practically impossible to find them.
He added that for him could be great also to find a second-hand pair.
Trying to help him out, I realized that they are not for sale neither on Adidas's websites (editor's note: Adidas is the only producer of this niche product).I made a search on e-commerce sites, but the few pairs I found, apart from being quite expensive, around 200€, are very small or very large... and Christian wears a 7.5/8...
I wrote to Adidas's customer service, but, apart from a generic: "Thank you for contacting us", I've had no answer.
Even if it will not be easy, we won't give up until Christian will have his booties...for handbike!

Da quando ho scoperto lo slittino, ho sempre visto gli appositi scarpini come delle specie di strumenti di tortura: utili, ma scomodissimi da indossare. Infatti gli atleti li tengono chiusi giusto il tempo delle discese.

Mentre era capitano dell'Hockey Prato, un incidente in scooter nel 2010 ha posto bruscamente fine alla sua carriera sportiva e cambiato la sua vita.

Christian mi ha spiegato che gli scarpini da slittino sarebbero ideali per l'handbike, infatti alcuni atleti stranieri già ne fanno uso, ma in Italia è praticamente impossibile trovarli.
Ha aggiunto che gli andrebbero benissimo anche usati.
Cercando di dargli una mano, mi sono resa conto che non sono in vendita nemmeno sui siti dell'Adidas (ndr.: unico produttore di questo prodotto di nicchia).
